San Isidro is a good stop for bamboo lovers because there are two furniture factories and the bamboo housing project to see. San Isidro is a medium size city which is close to the Chirripo National Park. Mount Chirripo is 12,536 feet high, making it the tallest mountain in Costa Rica and the second highest point in all of Central America. Hiking to to the top of Mount Chirripo is definitely an adventure! On a clear day, you can see both the Pacific and Caribbean coast! This is also where you can see the famous Quetzel bird.
